Wind Power

It does work! The wind can supply power on a daily basis, can be used as backup, or even as an alternative energy source. It has few moving parts and the maintenance is minimal. You can call it “green power”.
Power utilities have developed wind power energy for commercial use on wind farms both on land and in the water. The towers that the generators are mounted onto are tall enough to place the turbine itself above all surrounding obstacles so to have the wind be more steady and not subjected to turbulence generated by obstacles in the area.
For a home and as a daily source source wind power can be used to supplement power from the grid as long as the wind blows. To small of a breeze , or to large, does have an impact as to how much power is generated and will be available to use. Batteries can be used for storage and with an inverter for using this power in your home. Wind power efficiency also depends on where you live.
When used as a backup source for power, wind power energy does become very dependent on if the wind is blowing when the power is needed, hard to turn on the wind unlike a gas generator. But if you are looking for an alternative energy source, wind power is a very good idea. Once again, batteries for storage and an inverter can be a very good alternative energy source when the power goes out.
As wind can be called free energy or renewable energy, it is a start towards lower electric bills and some independence from the utility companies. Wind power for homes does work!! There are always start up costs and those can be minimized with government programs.
